Theres a bunch of articles out there on why the Simpsons started to suck.

Good read, thanks. I'm scared to venture out of my season 1-9 haven and watch all the recent seasons, as I know I almost always will be disappointed. I find it pretty crazy how religiously I watch the early episodes, but have no interest in seeking out the newer ones. I also can't help but presume it must have got even worse in the 8 years since that article was written. Anxiety of influence is a hard challenge, but the high level of other comedy writing out there really does suggest the simpsons just lost 'it'. Not to matter though, no one can take those precious perfect seasons away from us.

Has anyone kept up this season? I watched a few episodes, I forget they're airing now, and they just seem so pointless. And Homer isn't the same.

The whole weed episode is hilarious.
Also does anybody remember the episode where Homer was inside the walls or something then at the end of the episode he was in the real world.
I haven't seen that episode since I was like 12.
I dont recall ever putting on anything Southpole in my life.

Bart's Debate

'i don't know'
Homer at candy convention

Hello Mother Dear

Homer about triangles

The Simpsons - Homer Simpsons Rock Bottom interview

i also wanted to post clips from 'bart star' but couldnt find any, the dialogue/sound file will have to suffice.

'i'm comfortable with the way i am'
http://download.lardlad.com/sounds/season9/star2.mp3

Lisa Simpson: What position have you got for me?
-the kids gasps-
Lisa Simpson: That's right. A girl who wants to play football. How about that?
Ned Flanders: Well, thats super-duper, Lisa. We've already got four girls on the team.
Lisa Simpson: You do?
Ned Flanders: Uh huh. But we'd love to have you on board!
Lisa Simpson: Well... football's not really my thing. After all... what kind of civilized person would play a game with the skin of an innocent pig?
Ned Flanders: Well, actually, Lisa, these balls are synthetic!
Janey: And for every ball you buy, a dollar goes to Amnesty International!
Lisa Simpson: [crying] I've gotta go!
