Dino Jr. Appreciation

seriously, one of the greatest bands of all time even though I wasn't introduced to them through skating, I would probably only be listen to farm on pandora if I hadn't watched memory screen post it up slappys

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down

"Mind Glow"  its really good,  I heard it once in a bar and had the ultimate flash back/warm fuzzy feeling that you get when those moments happen.  "A Little Ethnic Song" sums up the Workshop and  everything else is great as well.

Mind Glow was used in one of the most legendary local videos of all time.
I love everything they have done, even the stuff without Lou and Murph. Typical fanboy.

Best band ever, I've seen them twice. No album can ever top 'Living All Over me'.
Dinosaur Jr. - Green Mind
Dinosaur Jr. - Freak Scene
Dinosaur Jr. - Just Like Heaven

This could also be turned into a "Dinosaur Jr in video parts" thread pretty easily.

Nah, it's definitely Donny's song. Honorable mention goes to Rudy Johnson's song.

We ran an article about Dino's presence in skating over the years in the print mag awhile back, had a list of every Dino song ever used in a video and who used it, plus interviews with a bunch of pros who skated to them talking about what a great band they are. "The Lung" was always a favorite of mine, fit so well with Dyrdek in Memory Screen. They are one of the few instances where I feel comfortable applying the term "epic."

Been a fan for years, though probably not as much as many others here. Saw Sebadoh, J solo, and Dino Jr. (opening for Primus, 12 year old me was stoked) all in the last year, and in my opinion J solo and Sebadoh were both better than all of the times I've seen Dinosaur Jr. (7), and that's no easy feat.

I recorded this a long time ago when they came and played Tampa Am.

They are playing at the House of Vans in Toronto next wednesday.

Don't know how this thread went this long without this being posted. Them and Alien was always a perfect match. Love how the chorus starts right as Pops lands the switch ollie at Love.

Seen them two and a half times. Found out about them through skating. Started listening at 17. First album I bought was this album and it's arguably still my favourite and it changed my life. Plus the cover art is amazing.

Greatest band of all time. Donny Barley's Underachievers part introduced me to this amazing group, YLAOM blew my fifteen-year-old mind, and I've been exposed to almost all of the music that I love to this day through the group. I've seen them three times -- my first concert in 2009, on the Bug tour with Henry Rollins and Keith Morris in 2011, and on their new album tour in 2012, where they played a lot of Deep Wound and more obscure stuff (like the Popps song posted above). I've also seen Sebadoh twice, and J solo once. Both were excellent.

I was actually lucky enough to uncover a roll of film I shot at the Bug stop at Atlanta's Variety Playhouse five years ago.
