none of those dudes are legends and merlino is better than all of them
Get the fuck outta here with that shit. Puleo isn't a legend? Jersey is a breeding ground for greats man, Gall, O'connor, Oyola, Wenning, Ishod, and Getz.

If I understand correctly he had an interview in Transworld (?) and just said a bunch of crazy shit and lost all his mainstream sponsors in the mid 90s. I have read the interview but don't really remember the content. I think it is on Chromeball.

Even before the interview, around 1995 he switched from 101 to Goodtimes, which didn't happen because Goodtimes paid more.

Dude's gnarly and shit but I just think of Darkstar when I hear his name.
But what do I know when I think Caviar is the best skate video I saw in the last couple of years.

iT WAS ABOUT TIME - NICK GO PRO AND MADE A PARTY AT DOUBLE ROCK

I don't care who he is, this is a clever graphic.  Paying tribute to one of the first New Jersey legends.  Which by the way, you can call those guys mentioned legends if you want, but most of them will be forgotten.  New Jersey legends is accurate.  Gall will pass as a human legend, that was an awesome skateboarder.  The rest of them, not so much.

If Foundation's trying to hide the fact that they hired a kindergartener as their art director, they just blew their cover right the fuck off.

wait, what? Foundation's art department has been that way from the get go

i don't remember the whole story, but it was something about Nick being at some skate art event thing and breaking one of the artist's boards and hitting him with it (like he smashed a board over a skate artist.) it went something like that.

there was a recent interview with him too and he talks about what went wrong with Baker. something about Leo slapping him for no reason in a bar, so Nick went up to Leo and slapped him right back. i guess Leo didn't like that and Andrew had to tell Nick that it wasn't gonnna work out.

http://blog.ccs.com/ccs-blog/2011/9/12/the-nick-merlino-interview.html

i guess a few people have said he's a conceited, kooky prick and acts weird/regular in social situations, but he seems to be trying to correct his past mistakes (from what i read in that interview anyways.)

I've met nick a handful of times, super nice to me.  Chilled with him and a few other people at a Garfield art show at the Hundreds store one night, and the girl working the lasagna table had to go do something and Nick offered to take over for her.  She let him and the food ran out, so nick grabbed the tip cup and gave it to the bartender.  The girl came back and didnt believe nick, but didnt seem to care really either.  So he grabs 20 bucks and puts it in the tip cup because he felt bad she didn't believe him.  He shreds and loves skating, good enough reasons to have a board for me.

Alright, I get it. You think he's a nice guy. There's no need to make up a story about him covering some girls shift and acting like Robin Hood with the tip jar.
