Anyone know of this photo? It's a head on shot of Hufnagel (?) doing a huge ollie from one dumpster to another. The dumpsters have been turned into plywood ramps. It's such a sick photo, but I can't find it any more. I remember it was in the book Dysfunctional that was published in 1999

A few pages back I talked about the McDonald's banks in Bakersfield and that someone spray painted 'fuck Tom Knox' on them but had no photographic evidence. Well here's proof.

Karma, salad days.

I've heard different things, but if I had to guess it was because Tom didn't really talk much when skating. He'd show up, do some tricks at mach 10, and take off. Sometimes you'd get as much as a 'later' before he disappeared. We called it the 'Knox attack' when we were teenagers. He's a really nice dude but I think people often got the impression that he was a dick.

Sick. It's awesome when old photos like this pop up.

Personal aside, I almost fell on a syringe skating that spot.

Awesome thread.

I am looking for a photo of Guy Mariano, circa '93 I would say.

Switch 360 flip over a gap in the side walk. I think he is wearing vans old schools, there's a bunch of peeps sitting against a fence in the background watching.

Anyone know which one I mean? Anybody got it?

On a similar note, I've been unsuccessfully looking for a Guy photo from '97; it's a very early Axion ad, and he's doing what I believe was a switch f/s shove over a flat grass gap in some neighborhood. He may be wearing a yellow shirt. Somehow I can't find it anywhere on the internet. Anyone?

Green shirt, and not a flat gap...but maybe you're memory isn't what it used to be ; )

Edit: not even switch on closer inspection, just assumed it would be as it's Mariano

Thanks for the effort, but no, I didn't mean that ad. That's the gap at the hospital on Vermont. That Girl ad was a year or two later.

I remember that ad, I don't have it.  I hated those shoes so bad.  Guys shoes were the worst.  Best skater worst shoe ever
