Symphony Sid was a Jazz radio DJ back in the day. My father worked under him @ a radio station in Florida during the 1970's. Sid had a wicked temper and was known for throwing vinyl records around the radio station. (If you watch the beginning of the movie "Private Parts" about Howard Stern there's a scene with Symphony Sid having a temper tantrum in a radio station.)
