Hey Grim, thanks for the interest..
Here you go...
1. Does it grip as well as regular grip (like Jessup, Mob, Shorty's, etc) using either cup or vulc soles?
- All I can speak for is cup soles, as that is what I used to skate in.. I would say that this just grips "different"...which is hard to explain, but it always felt like the board was just a little closer to me than normal on my ollies. Since there are many different brands of regular grip tape and people love or hate each one, I really believe this product is going to come down to what the individual thinks. I am sure some guys will say it grips better than normal grip tape and some will say it grips worse..just like people do with every other grip tape on the market. Again, my intention was to have a product that I truly thought was an alternative that would not rip up shoes and would be liked by actual skaters, not their 6 year old brothers whose mom doesn't like buying new shoes and could care less if it works or not. I hoping to get some guys to start buying and reviewing the product so people get a honest opinion.
2. Is the grit more like plastic or more like rubber?
- Rubber-type, plastic doesn't really grip.
3. Is the grit attached to the liner, or is it all one piece (like a textured sheet of plasticy stuff)?
- One piece...again, all in the right texture.
4. Does it have much more weight to it? I ask because when I was a kid I tried "inventing" rubber griptape (using that textured lumpy rubber Contact stuff some people line kitchen shelves with) but it was noticeably heavy, and clunky feeling.
- It definitely does not seem like it. I am sure no person would be able to tell blindfolded. I am biased, but I really feel this acts and feels like a normal, standard grip tape. You really can't even notice that it is different from a foot away..or even up close.
Since you are a moderator here, if you are interested, I would be willing to send you a piece to try out and review. Or if you are in SoCal, you could come by my shop and I will install it for you. For anyone else who is interested, if you want to buy some on Ebay and try it out, I am willing to offer a full refund if you are not satisfied...just msg me when you purchase and let me know you are from the Slap forum.
Also, sorry to have to start marketing this product using EBay, but in today's world it takes a really good contact or a boatload of money to get a product out on the market...neither of which I have. So I am just starting at the grassroots level and hoping that people agree with me and the product speaks for itself. Thanks again!
