;D ;D  Figured someone would say that... I have no reply for you.  Guess you could try our stuff out and see if you like it better..if so, just get some old grip tape and sand down your shoes for the look.  ;D

I'm really curious about it, even if I dont buy the typical " We have spent years looking for the correct surface texture to be able to offer a true alternative to the standard grip tape that would not tear up your shoes.".
Nobody spent years developing a fucking griptape, unless you're abig corporation that have the money to finance investigations, but in this case you wouldn't be selling your sheet on ebay. I'm sure even Jessup or Mob don't have any R&D departement, they just went to the fabric in China or wherever asked for samples, said they wanted a different glue or an higher concentration of sand, asked for more samples and then aproved one of the samples.

However I'd be interested to read a review while there's no hologram or shit behind that...

Thanks for the replies guys.  Actually, I never said we spent millions of dollars in R&D or anything...but I truly have spent 12 years gradually working through different materials and testing all along the way.  No, this was not my main focus, but I always thought the idea was valid.. I was just never able to find the right material that would actually grip.

Maybe this product will not make it, but I believe the product is good and if there is ever going to be an alternative to normal grip tape, I think this is it.  Hopefully we can get this out there for guys to try and reviews will start rolling in.  Obviously there are going to be guys that love normal grip tape, which is fine, but I believe there is a large population of skaters out there who would fin this alternative useful.

Aaron, I might be down to take a look at your grip, but before that, here's some stuff I'm curious about:

1. Does it grip as well as regular grip (like Jessup, Mob, Shorty's, etc) using either cup or vulc soles?
2. Is the grit more like plastic or more like rubber?
3. Is the grit attached to the liner, or is it all one piece (like a textured sheet of plasticy stuff)?
4. Does it have much more weight to it? I ask because when I was a kid I tried "inventing" rubber griptape (using that textured lumpy rubber Contact stuff some people line kitchen shelves with) but it was noticeably heavy, and clunky feeling.

Holla. Actually curious about it.

Hey Grim, thanks for the interest..

Here you go...

1. Does it grip as well as regular grip (like Jessup, Mob, Shorty's, etc) using either cup or vulc soles?

     - All I can speak for is cup soles, as that is what I used to skate in.. I would say that this just grips "different"...which is hard to explain, but it always felt like the board was just a little closer to me than normal on my ollies.  Since there are many different brands of regular grip tape and people love or hate each one, I really believe this product is going to come down to what the individual thinks.  I am sure some guys will say it grips better than normal grip tape and some will say it grips worse..just like people do with every other grip tape on the market.  Again, my intention was to have a product that I truly thought was an alternative that would not rip up shoes and would be liked by actual skaters, not their 6 year old brothers whose mom doesn't like buying new shoes and could care less if it works or not.  I hoping to get some guys to start buying and reviewing the product so people get a honest opinion.

2. Is the grit more like plastic or more like rubber?
     - Rubber-type, plastic doesn't really grip.

3. Is the grit attached to the liner, or is it all one piece (like a textured sheet of plasticy stuff)?

     - One piece...again, all in the right texture.

4. Does it have much more weight to it? I ask because when I was a kid I tried "inventing" rubber griptape (using that textured lumpy rubber Contact stuff some people line kitchen shelves with) but it was noticeably heavy, and clunky feeling.

     - It definitely does not seem like it.  I am sure no person would be able to tell blindfolded.  I am biased, but I really feel this acts and feels like a normal, standard grip tape.  You really can't even notice that it is different from a foot away..or even up close.

Since you are a moderator here, if you are interested, I would be willing to send you a piece to try out and review.  Or if you are in SoCal, you could come by my shop and I will install it for you.  For anyone else who is interested, if you want to buy some on Ebay and try it out, I am willing to offer a full refund if you are not satisfied...just msg me when you purchase and let me know you are from the Slap forum.

Also, sorry to have to start marketing this product using EBay, but in today's world it takes a really good contact or a boatload of money to get a product out on the market...neither of which I have.  So I am just starting at the grassroots level and hoping that people agree with me and the product speaks for itself.  Thanks again!

Well, you've definitely got me interested, and you don't have any holograms in it so that's a plus. It might take me a while (like mid January), but I'd be down to do a full on review on the You Tubes.

Also, welcome to Slap... post around a bit. Cheers.

Incorrect.  Jessup does.  They are a corporate company for non-slip tapes and coatings.  Griptape is just a small part of their business.

can i just say i am happy to see people using science and facts to try, and to create skate products. verse magic?

also.. you should really set up some kind of website.. and like atleast a bigcartel shop or something. ebay.. just seems sorta shifty.
also maybe a video or something showing the stuff, and someone like. doing some tricks with it?

otherwise though i also like ripping up my shoes. hence MOB these days on my board.

This stuff is VERY different than our grip.  I don't see the Duckle grip as a viable street style grip tape.  Seems better for cruising or longboarding.  But that is just my opinion.

i usually sand my grip down when i first put it on.i feel most griptape (jessup, mobb) is already a bit too grippy for me. i use the left over scraps and just rub it over the grip to add some life onto my shoes.

i remember a dude putting that rubber like 3m grippy tape onto his board to add longevity onto his kicks. didn't work out too well.
