Mike V starting another brand
« on: December 23, 2011, 04:06:57 AM »
Wasn't Mike V just riding for Powell after a failed start-up from scratch brand. Now he has another company. Excuse me if this has already been posted, but i find it weird. For my first post, I hope this does not suck. You guys have a pretty high standard.

Stacy Peralta: "Mike, so George wants us to put together a new video.  It's gonna be huge, McGill has been killing it lately.  Anyways, I wanted to run some ideas by you."

Mike Vallely: "Okay, shoot."

Stacy: "Well, for your section I wanted to do something that was forward looking, but still showcased your rich heritage.  I got the art department to put together a few gravestones behind the warehouse up in Santa Barbara.  I was thinking..."

Mike: "Stacy, I'm not running through a fucking graveyard again.  You know that's not what I'm about."

Stacy:  "Wait a sec Mike, hear me out.  I got the art guy to do up each gravestone with the logo of a company you've quit or run into the ground.  It'll be like you're running through your past being pursued by skateboard industry demons and you don't know where to go.  It's all very symbolic.  But then you see a light in the sky.  You turn towards the light and there's a skeleton hand reaching down to you.  I think we can probably do this part in CGI, but I wanna have the Powell Ripper materialize in front of you.  He'll be glowing in a white light.  You guys hug and then..."

Mike: "This is bullshit Stacy."

I've always liked Mike V. I think he would have been better off staying on Powell.

elephantskateboards.com sounds like elementskateboards.com, i wonder how many wayward internet jockeys will fall victim to his website when they are trying to get to elements?

remember i when by the sword came out, the shop i was working at got a press release and a free board... then we never heard from them again. our distributor didnt have em (which was funny cause they had 1031 which was under the same umbrella)

maybe he has a marketing plan this time...

I feel like reviewing/trying out some of those Airwalk shoes. Maybe a review testing the Enigma...? I don't know how many of you guys would be interested but I need to cure my curiosity. Sick video, I was digging it. I'd like to try out some Elephant boards, the graphics are a plus.
