Wheel graphics facing inward
« on: December 23, 2011, 04:47:35 PM »
Where did this trend begin?

Everyone I have seen in the past year with a decent amount of skill does this.

People who skateboard are on some SHEEP SHIT! 4real!

white wheels bring a nice balance, especially if there's already a lot going on with the board graphic.

yea too distracting for me sometimes. i actually keep 3 wheels inward with one graphic side out, helps me determine which is the nose from tail.

I think the first time I saw this done was in an old 411 where Kris Markovich talks about it.

This.  There is still a lot of entertainment to be had, but way to much wack shit lately.

I prefer a solid color, but sometimes you stumble across a good deal and have to run with it.

+ I enjoy the way graphics look when the wheel is rolling. extreme effects!

Still haven't answered the question though......

If you are actually out skating, your graphics on your wheels will be rubbed off in like a week anyways. There's no need to flip them around, unless you're trying to round them.

Ι think that graphics on wheels are non sense since they are too little to notice them, so they look like some kind of stain on your wheels.
Aesthetically its better having your wheel graphics facing inwards.

I normally setup new wheels with the graphics inward, but sometimes I'll flip em around later on so they don't get coned. By that time the graphic is pretty much gone though.
What really bugs me though, is this 4 different colored wheels bullshit. It sucks to look at... no way I could ride that shit.
Going into to business with Vallely is the skateboarding equivalent of starting a land war in Asia, just don't.

I have three wheels facing out, and one wheel facing inward on the right side of the tail, which I doodle on. It's a wierd compulsion but it drives me absolutely nuts if I don't do it.. OCD sucks!  >:(

i think i first saw it on nickelodean skate.tv, or something else old

old wheels cone as they get old, and you rotate em, from to back and in to out so they keep a regular shape and since new wheels start coned on the graphic you should start with them facing in

now i just do it just cuz...

i used to do this a few years ago but got board of it, recently put on a new pair of wheels, and a friend actually looked at me like i had asked to shit in his hand for riding the graphics facing outwards.

Wheel graphics used to only be on the inner radius where they wouldn't scratch up and look shitty. I think it's either face them inward or laboriously rub the graphics off. The former is easier.
