Get this guy a wheelbarrow
And a set of loppers. The dude was using bolt cutters to trim trees.
Also what's the deal with him initially filling the form with dry mix, and pouring wet on top of that? Does that work? My working knowledge of cement is if the slab isn't at least 3 or 4 inches thick it's likely to crack, even if reinforced.
When pouring transition it seems like the main problem is the lip, which always seems to crack out and get bondoed. I've never tried it but it seems like a masonry wheel on a cordless grinder could be used to cut the existing concrete so the new slab could maintain it's thickness all the way down.
