nieratko article on it. with quotes from those involved

Steve Rodriguez, Judge/Owner of 5Boro SKateboards
-- "If you look at the people that wanted to ride for 5Boro and be something and do something and those that were very successful (like a Westgate, Dompierre, Suski, Peterson), they all had the same thing in common: no matter what they had to do, they did it. Whether they had to clean out a van or do the worst demo on the worst course in the middle of nowhere for five kids, they did it. Kids have to realize they have to work for stuff. And these kids signed up for this. It wasn't like they were forced to do One In A Million.

fuck steve rodriguez

yeah, again i keep wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, but all the quotes are awful. im sure anyone you had cleaning out vans and doing small demos was doing that because they were proud to be a part of something rad like 5boro and not being forced to look like idiots in front of tens of thousands of people for a show/producer they didnt give a shit about

Everyone on camera in that last episode (except the kids) should immediately issue a blanket apology to all the kids involved. That means you, Steve and Rodney. You guys are officially on the "suspect" list from now on.

Cardiel gets a pass cause he's Cardiel & it takes more than association with this shit to smear him. Jamie only had one line & it's possible he wasn't aware of the whole story. Lurker Lou should just be gang-raped and thrown in a ditch somewhere.

yes that alex klein. he gave me a board once for my birthday cuz he was high school friends with my cousin which was really cool of him. but this show is definitely wack as fuck and evertyhing those fools were saying in the last episode was so gay. especially steve "twat" rodriguez. maybe if they didnt have such gay ass challenges the kids wouldnt be so bummed on this shit i swear it couldnt have just been the camera thing..

Simply amazing. After constantly reading "it gets worse" week after week, I stupidly kept thinking in the back of my mind, "nahhh, I'm sure it'll be fine". Well, I was wrong. The skaters really deserve an apology. A whole fuckin' redo would be nice. Give them an actual chance without the regular challenges. It could be based solely on **GASP!** their skating. They won't do that though, probably because redos just aren't that marketable.

Alex Klein, you done fucked up.

i think it was a step towards the direction of creating a skateboarding TV show for a mainstream audience. obviously pathetically done though.

it's like i can see what klein is trying to do but he's just fucking up so bad on something that's end product would be fucking pathetic anyway?

I have no problem stating that I will go out of my way not to support any companies that these people are involved with. Fuck Steve Rodriguez. Yeah, no one forced these kids to do OIAM, but as Dean said, they did OIAm assuming it was going to be similar to how it has been for the past 7 or 8 years (?). And to pretend like these kids were acting idiotic or spoiled is so arrogant and delusional I cannot even express it.

do any of the kids in this post on the boards?

they deserve a fucking apology. it would be nice if they knew how much real skaters are backing them, and that they definitely arent in the wrong.

fuck OIAM.

So skating is 40% and the rest is based on how a person is?

That means a huge majority of every sponsored skater lacks integrity because thats what these kids had and they got fucked because of it..

All I can think now is that based on the criteria they set out in the last episode, Grim would have won if he had made the cut.

What a massive pile of steaming shite that was. After the non stop gnarballs action of last years OIAM I was super hyped on this years but, like everyone else, I have had my eyes raped by Alex Klien et al. ALL the people, other than the kids, and this includes JT, should hang there head in shame at being involved in this shit. This was everything that is wrong with skateboarding right now. Embarrassing to be affiliated with this as a skater >:(

For the last few years within just a few episodes I felt like I really knew everyone and their style of skating but I feel like I know next to nothing about these guys besides how they look in a fucking line up. Hopefully one of them will violently stab me in a dark alley one day so I haven't completely wasted my time.

Also steve rodriguez in that episode:

Fuck you
