late flips in a game of skate are ok, but i'd rather see tricks that the opponent stands a chance of at least getting close to.  if someone did a fakie biggerspin late flip that would be sick but it's just so out of reach for everyone else, like lutzka's fs 360 kickflips.  it's no fun knowing there's no chance the other person will come anywhere close to it.

Looking at the brackets and just finish watching the first game, the way how the brackets are set up is how US vs. THEM should've been setup.

Shane O'Neill doesn't do impossibles so i'm not sure why people treat them as such.

15 of us at work filled in the brackets and there is a 20 dollar buy in.
Going to be fun.

It be cool if you worked in a bakery or something.  But instead you work with 15 people that care about this.

fuck. dont know about your ass but id much rather work with 15 people who did care about this
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Could've guessed that decenzo would lose, but I'm tired of watching Shane O'neill's impossibles. they don't wrap.

WTF was that post-game interview? multiple camera angles, awkward dialogue, soft focus, suspect levels of grooming... all so cringeworthy. It was like some terribly acted movie, feel sorry for the skaters having to go through that.

they need to drop this huge over production and overhype, the early batbs were actually fun to watch and chilled out, these games are such intense, street league-ified 'contests' now. same can be said for the creativity-stifling homogenisation of the 'competitors' as well... lame.

skateboarding shouldn't take itself so seriously

id love to see him pull one of these out against someone

Holy shit! I hope circus tricks make a comeback. Skate is way more fun when people just don't do the same ol' stuff.

indeed, this is battle 5. I've seen enough kickflips on flat and stock tricks to last a life time. seeing a stylish stock trick is nice but what else have you pros got? give me some wacky no comply pressure flip late flip or something, something fun and interesting. sketchy or not go nuts go back to 1992. battle at the berrics needs julio de la cruz.

late flips in a game of skate are ok, but i'd rather see tricks that the opponent stands a chance of at least getting close to.  if someone did a fakie biggerspin late flip that would be sick but it's just so out of reach for everyone else, like lutzka's fs 360 kickflips.  it's no fun knowing there's no chance the other person will come anywhere close to it.

Theres been 4 battles worth of tricks everyone can get close to, isn't that enough? someone SHOULD throw fakie biggerspin late flips and the like and spice the games up and win this thing. this isn't a game of "fair" its a game of "skate" with a hefty prize at the end at the end I might add.

as a long time fan of impossibles I fucking hate this. it was clearly a 360 shove. if you can't see the difference between shanes 360 shove and decenzos attempt at an impossible you are blind.

it looked like he's trying to do impossibles but they're not working properly. There's been other games of skate at the Berrics when people are obviously trying impossibles and they do the same thing. believe me, I know what a fucking impossible is supposed to look like.

^ yeah, especially with someone like pj that is so obviously awkward in that situation. Those interviews are silly, making it out to be a big deal. Who cares what a skater's thoughts are before and after a game of skate.
