That's the last line of the article. Jamie Thomas wrote the whole thing and it's got this weird sulky/apologetic tone the whole time. I wonder if he's worried about some kind of backlash or if the zero hate has hit an uncomfortable high or something. Also I'd imagine that getting 2-3 guys hurt on king of the road every year probably makes the process of filming videos and whatnot more difficult. Anyway. There's supposed to be a web interview of JT on the thrasher site sooner or later, maybe he'll elaborate...

Anyway, yeah, having most of the team fucked everytime they do a king of the road, probably isn't the best idea, especially knowing how Jamie loves to make vids of pretty much fucking everything

Still it's a pretty good run, i'd have like to see them against Lakai or Girl though that would have been sick, i'm sure Jamie will have Mystery or Fallen on the next one. . . .

Zero should be back. They had a blast. Jamie's a driven as ever, and win or lose it's great coverage for his crew. The dude has the whitest legs in skateboarding though, that's for sure.

I think it's a damn shame that most skaters can't just look at this and say, 'fuck it, zero is the most rounded team and consistent team in skateboarding and JT puts his money where his mouth is." They put out mediocre videos with tough skating in them and people bitch 'they're just rail bandits!' Then they put on some guys who obviously have good style and don't really touch rails and people bitch about something else. KOTR is one of the most ridiculous, yet unbiased, litmus tests (Google it) in skateboarding. So what? They try. You call them jocks, I call them pirates. Tomato/Tomatoe.
The Bones Brigade thing is a good analogy but Stacey Peralta never threw himself down on a skateboard as a part of the team. He just kind of sat in the back and egged it all on and pointed some cameras around. Say what you will about JT, he is not afraid to break himself off or get his expensive rock replica t-shirts dirty.

That's fucking lame. Regardless of how you feel about Zero I still think they deserve some respect. People don't have to line up to ride their dicks but just a little applause won't kill these assholes, even if it is fake. These guys have been dominating the most real skateboard contest every put together. Contest are lame for the most part which this contest validates more than anything but I always thought KOTR was about as close to getting it right as you can get.

i dont like the "zero" approach to skating...but hey judging from the past 3 KOTR events they get shit done and this year baker was on the trip that was supposed to be the team to take zero out but hey when youve got a legend pushing a legend and then young guns and tranny ripper or two its hard to get beat but bring in a REAL team now with buesnitz torres ramondetta and nick dom-p and there is there competition

I can't really see any reason to even bitch at the Zero team - everyone seems to hate Jamie Thomas now, 10 years ago, when he was coming up/mass skate star everyone loved him, it's not even like he pushes his religous views as much as a shit storm of other skaters out there.

His Team is actaully really good, everyone on Zero is fucking rad, having a good team obviously reaps rewards - winning.

Baker could have done better, you know i really want to go for the "they're fucking junkies out of re-hab approach" for them not doing well, but that shit just doesn't cut it, so yeah Reynolds is the only one on that team who even put in any effort, Greco's basically a joke now, the whole, i'm a drunk/stoned/pirate/now/clean/straight/normal image has always been dumb as fuck and a marketing tool, man as for the new "terms" he invented, i can't even being. . .

Anyway Zero won so many times because they're sick, ok Thomas pushes his team, but fuck the Coach is supposed to, ok it's not "supposed" to be an organised sport (skateboarding) but team managers are supposed to get out there and get shit done, just cas Thomas has a board out and is team manager, he get's extra shit

They won because they deserved it

....and if Zero does ultimately decided not to go on KOTR next year, whoever wins is going to have to deal with the "they wouldnt have won if Zero was in it." Which would actually be a legitimate criticism. I mean, the entire point of KOTR is to see who can get as much of the stuff done as possible, so if a team just wants to go on a normal tour, then don't sign up for KOTR. Although JT's approach to getting things done in skateboarding may be questionable in most areas, in KOTR it's totally understandable and it obviously works. If another team wants to finally beat them, then they're gonna have to actually 'try.'
