Gran Canaria
« on: January 08, 2024, 12:03:24 AM »
Hey guys, we’ve just booked the first skate trip of the year - heading to Gran Canaria for a week in March. Looking to film a street video out there and was wondering if anyone had a spot map? Or recommendations? I’ve seen the red-ish plaza in Las Palmas that seems to be popular, and a couple other notable ones but with no locations/pins for them. Ideally ledges/manny pads, but will happily take any info of stairs/rails/gaps too. Cheers!

I've poked around over there a bit out of curiosity (isn't that blue tile quarterpipe spot there?), check Plaza de la Feria

Thank you! Is the plaza you mentioned the one with the sorta tiled wavy banks/hips? Been scoping around on Instagram and there looks to be some good stuff, just don’t have pins for any of em

There's a few parts filmed fully in the islands, Canary Islands in winter are surely one of the best places in the world

Thanks for the inspo! Yeah the weather was a big reason we picked Gran Canaria this time around. We’ve had some bad luck with rainy winter trips to Spain haha. Thought we’d take the safer option

First of all:

Rent a car. Even if you only stay in Las Palmas it's the best way to get around.

Spots: Think all of it is shown in the insta channel. Still, Las Palmas has a lot to offer, but there are hidden spots all over the island. Most spectacular is the fullpipe in the hills. Maspalomas has an amazing Plaza on the hill and some other stuff.

You'll find a great Hubba spot here, that's worth at the end of a session: C. Obispo Vela, 30, 35110 Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Las Palmas, Spanien

Went there twice and always had a blast.

This is all super helpful, thank you. We’ve got a rental car booked as I assumed that would be the case. Last year we did a Cyprus trip and it was a similar vibe - driving all over the island each day. I think I’ll chat to the Instagram page a bit more and try and get some more pins. Thank you again! The video is really dope, great job
