I hope this starts a trend in improving skate shoes with new technology. It baffles me how Chuck Taylors are the hottest shoes right now and they first came out in 1917... 99 years ago. What in the fuck
I think a big problem is that skaters are generally very dismissive of technology, this is especially seen when it comes to boards. When shoe companies do release shoes with more innovative technology, they never end up making as much money for the company as a slim black and white vulc. Of course this is partially due to the fact that slim vulcs are generally much more aesthetic, and look like the iconic "skate shoe." One good thing that I see coming from skating becoming mainstream through Nike, Adidas, Street League etc is the improvement of equipment, namely shoes. Sole tech has been putting in some good work, the eS Sesla and a few of Etnies' models look really good, but definitely does not appeal to most kids.
