Shrinking Shoes?
« on: March 03, 2013, 05:12:56 PM »
I have a pair of suede Huf Mateos with canvas side walls that are a .5 size too big and I was wondering if there are anyways to shrink them. They are noticeably worn so returning them is not an option and I've been also trying to sell them, but I don't think thats gonna happen either. My current pair of SPV's are almost done so I'm really hoping I'll be able to skate the Mateos.

If there was a way it still couldn't shrink the sole. So the upper would be shorter than the sole.

you can cut a little piece of the middle of your sole and insole, and then glue the parts back together without the middle one, making the shoe a bit shorter. I did it once with some old shoe, just to see if it would work. The shoe ended up looking kinda weird, since the suede was now a bit loose, but it worked fine for a little while, but the glue i used wasn't anything great so it didn't hold for long. but if you don't care about how the shoe will look, it is possible with good enough glue.

^Don't listen to that fucking idiot above (just read over his moronic how to once and you know he's regular).  Find a friend that is willing to trade or has some spare insoles from other shoes.  You have friends, right?

It will work trust me and it will work better, cause if you just put extra insoles, you lose some boardfeel and the shoe is still longer than what you're used to and that can make the flick feel a bit weird at first. But do NOT do that with shoes you don't want to destroy, because they will look horrible

Then just jizz into your shoes.  It'll end up ruining your shoes with less effort.

I doubt that he's able to produce jizz yet so my idea is better.

I bought the shoes in my respective size like I do with every other shoe. Hufs just fit differently.

I still dont understand why they would send you a new free pair, or did you send the first ones back?

I don't really know, I just emailed saying their sizing is kinda off and they offered me a free pair.
