Old skateboard decks (the wood)
« on: March 08, 2013, 11:09:28 AM »
I've just been getting into skateboarding again after a 10 year break.

Can a deck get too "old" (the wood) even it's not skated on? I found a board (DGK so Kayo) I wanted to buy but it's not one of their recent releases, it's new from a shop though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to club. This is my second go round of trying to get back into skating after over a decade out of it.

Anyway, with old decks, it really depends on how it was stored. Check the board to make sure it's not dried out or warped. That can happen sometimes with a deck that's been on the shelf for awhile. It might be just fine.
