I'm ok with both. Better than the same damn fliptricks down the same stair sets or the same freaking tailslide combos.

CK1's really hard rail tricks right into really hard flip tricks off the curb at the recent berrics thing made me think that stepping up your quick-foot game to Suciu levels might be a new trend. As trends go, good be a pretty cool one. Would like to see some people busting out the best of their flatground game right after hitting something big.

That, and Mango's 50-50 a big ole rail to manual to front shuv down a set made me think there's a lot of rail to manual variations that would actually be awesome.

Oh, and I'm interested in what the footage of this cover could possibly look like. Not that Wes has ever done a bad looking trick.

This trend is the most awesome thing for us non sponsored skaters. Tearing the living shit out of your griptape and mangeling your board is genius. Also high five to the high water tight pants with tucked in shirt combo, skating is looking up nowadays ::)

Looks like a heelflip but either way this is fucking stupid, first Greco's part was ruined with a stupid as dark slide down a skatepark rail and now this. I bet Greco already regrets that ender....

Well, between this and Greco, at least we now know that it takes about 20 years for most pros to catch up to Rodney.

that fancy footwork is inherently what makes those bros so enjoyable to watch skate.  Obviously an enviable skill, speaking for myself, I'd be fucking suchooing into and out of everything, on all manner of planetered ledges, not givin zero fucks about my frequent violation of rules pending to angular momentum.

Bros should skate how they see fit.  For every Braydon you need a TimTim, for every Gagne one Brock, for every Decenzos bros, a Zattoni Brothers.  You see where I'm going with this...good skateboarding is like trying to decide "what is pornographic?"--the answer is the same, you know it when you see it.  Fuck the trends.

Plus, if you purposefully try and skate trendy by definition you're a huge gay, totally upriver, and yurr blowin it

Rowley and Boulala pioneered the novelty of people that aren't Mullen doing darkslides a decade ago.

Except 1.) they didn't do it on rails (I guess maybe we can count that rail-ledge hybrid in Lyon), 2.) they weren't 360 flipping into them, and 3.) I said most, not all.  Good try though.  (Oh, and Boulala barely rode away from his one in Sorry and I don't remember seeing him to one after that.  You could have said Haslam, but even then, he's super tech so he wouldn't be the best counterexample either.)

I remember there being a Mike Youssefpour Birdhouse ad of him darksliding a pretty decent sized rail in like '92.  I'm sure it was caveman and a bail, but it was still pretty sick that he got on there.

gnar for anyone who can dig up that ad
