Dill and Van Engelen were two solid pieces that helped create what is now being called the "Photosynthesis era". But that time period could also be called "Fulfill The Dream in Sweatpants era" or "All Misled Youth Go Jump Off a Building Round 2". Albeit these other videos don't compare to "Photosynthesis", what it adds up to is: what you are into.
Alien Workshop has changed immensely and very quickly in the recent past. Mind control is subtle, telling us our vote doesn't matter on a full page ad in bright yellow isn't.
Skateboarding will be alright, as long as we still get to see skating from these two and are able to read some of the more inspirational words that have come out of their mouths as of late.
Dill and Van Engelen won't be hurting and financially I doubt the Workshop will either.

Aslong as workshop gets to keep Gilbert and Jake all is well. Havent seen it mentioned in here yet but doesnt this mean that there is room for Westgate on AWS? Getting goosebumps just thinking about it

Workshop is moving beyond the lifestyle shit. They had an amazing run at being one of the biggest yet most respected companies. They stuck w/ Dill and AVE through a lot of shit. It was a symbiotic relationship.

Kids coming up now are not likely to become huge Dill/AVE fans and those guys likely have no desire to be marketable to that demographic.

This makes perfect sense for everyone involved. Dill and AVE are in a good position to start some great shit now that old guys like me can love and if it's done right it could start a whole new Workshop like project.

Things change. I'm psyched on this.

Like many have said at this point their better off doing their own thing. They've had a nice run on AWS but things change & its time to move on. They definitely gon have the "older" market on lock if they go in the right direction as a brand so kudos to them for making power moves & doing shit their own way.

Quite a few people have said supreme but I just don't see it.
Supreme are absolutely killing it at the moment a far as hype and sales.
They have always done their own logo boards and then usually a collab with an artist each season and I just cant see them changing up a pretty successful formula. Plus Dill and Ave wouldnt want their names on decks that are only sold in the 9 supreme stores and a handful of boutique retail stores around the world. Just wouldnt make sense.
Can't see fucking awesome skateboards happening either. It is the most half ass brand going. It has been around for quite a while but is so inconsistent in releasing gear and delivering to stockists and so forth.
I think it will be a board brand out of vans that will be fronted by Dill and Ave with them having most of the creative control but will still be run by vans.
