« on: June 04, 2013, 10:47:16 PM »
Awhile ago someone posted some hiking laces that they said could not be ripped from skating in. Maybe it was like hiking rope or something but could someone please post them again I want to buy them now.

imagine working somewhere that sells shoe laces by the foot, that'd be exciting

There are individual threads inside, you can pull them out, make it flat, whatever you want.

they get pretty shitty if you pull out the threads. and theyre incredibly hard to keep tied with or with threads inside

I am definitely still backing them.  They fuzz up a little bit in the wear areas and they will probably eventually break but they last forever.  The grey ones from my original pictures have outlasted two pairs of shoes.

They are a little stiffer than cotton but I don't really have any issues when them coming untied as long as I tie them tight.  I also figured out that you can cut down on the fraying on the ends by using really sharp scissors to cut them cleanly and then burn the ends a little to melt it together.  The melted end is also easier to push through eyelets.
