^Probably the only way the kids will pay attention to him. What sponsors does he even have left these days?

Someone on this forum said before that he was dropped because
he's a redneck who eats cheeseburgers, smokes cigarettes and nothing else

I dunno though cause he could just thrown on a pair of dickies jean, a metallica
t-shirt and then become instantly marketable.

He doesn't have an image that sells.

He's some dude from suburban Massachusets who wears unfashionable jeans, a redneck hat, and just skates. He doesn't make "art" or give "personal" interviews. As much as people like to claim that they don't care about fashion stuff or personality in skating, it makes a huge difference

How many of you guys would buy a Bachinsky pro board over a Gonz, MJ, or Dill?

That's not really a fair comparison because those dude's have been around for 20+ years and are pretty much everyone's favorite skateboarders.

I think being on City skateboards definitely changed his marketability.  I don't think I've ever seen a City board in person.  And releasing a great part for in an easily-forgettable Oakley video didn't help either.  Or being one of the countless dudes on Adidas for a while.  Think and Vox aren't crazy marketable sponsors either.

I had a few city boards, they were pretty good as I recall. I liked city I was a bit bummed when it died.

That is true. What would be a better litmus test? Jake Johnson, Alex Olson, and Dane Burman?

He's one of the most talented dudes there is but his styles not so great, doesnt have a marketable image, and trick selection is questionable, especially on mini ramp which is seemingly what most of his footage consists of..just because you're talented enough to do it doesn't mean people want to see it. i'd much rather see someone grind the coping and actually flow and do lines in a mini than a hardflip fs smith stall for 2 seconds revert to flat with no speed

Reminds me of a cross between Kerry Getz and Jamie Fortune... could see him on Timecode era Alien, but would rather have seen Fortune in that slot now that I think about it.

That sounds awesome , Darkstar is abit of a weird company , they do good videos and have a good team , but they have always had a weird art direction . Atleast he will get boards and a paycheck , more parts from him and we get to see awesome skateboarding

This. Darkstar pro check from Dwindle is better than Ammo flow that he seems to be getting now.

I mean its like having a friend or knowing somebody who is a nice guy and really needs a job . Darkstar aint horrible and he gets a check , boards and travel from it . Its not the right time to argue that he should be on Girl or Chocolate ,

Still hoping Prod will put him on though !

I skated with him right before he went to china, he said he just got on and is working on a part for later next year. Check his instagram, he posts so many photos with his board not showing the graphic because he doesn't really want everyone knowing yet.

i suppose you're right but he still puts out more obnoxiously tech mini ramp footage than i care for..also by kickflipping el toro he may have screwed himself into forever being known as that guy..can't deny he's damn good and well rounded though

I hope he does, that's more relatable than Dylan or Nyjah stepping out of their expensive car wearing cologne or axe or whatever.

Dave's the man.Skated with him and a bunch of Lowell Heads in Boston a few times.Kid rips.Just because someone isn't "marketable" doesn't mean that they aren't killing it on board.I wouldn't be suprised if Dave ends up on a east coast company. As far as the comment that he doesn't do anything. He currently has a project going where he makes picture frames out of recycled boards and the proceeds go directly to the city of Lowell.

Think the point that I'm trying to make is this.Haters gonna hate.

That's some serious slight of hand, making slots out of thin air and then filling them.
