« on: June 30, 2013, 03:35:12 PM »
Right now us in the seattle area are in a bit of a heat wave and its tough to skate cuz its so hot you feel like you cant breathe. Any tips on how to deal with the heat.

Drink water, eat healthy foods, shorts, bring replacement shirts, skate a shady spot, skate at night, take a breather every 5-10 mins.

Don't go into contest mode if it's hot, shortens the session by like an hour when you're skating like you're in the Street League finals or some shit.

all this and SHORTS SHORTS SHORTS. you niggas out there still tryna skate in jeans are just killin yaselves. man up and wear some shorts & youll wonder why you havent done it earlier. I get the gnarliest shinners all the time and I still think its worth it, not that 3 cm of denim is gonna prevent that much pain anyways.

It took me ten years to realize that jeans will do little to protect my shins. Knees are another story.

Gold bond powder to prevent swamp crotch and balls sticking to legs.  Night skate.  Skate naked.  Sunblock.

Dude, I live in Portland and its been in the mid 90's the last couple days, I cant do it. 5 Minutes and I feel like I am in a sauna. I just have to skate places with shade, or wait until 8pm or later. 90's is too damn hot for me.

Today, I dipped my shirt in the river and it kept me cool as it dried.  Sometimes I'll soak it in the water fountain, wring it out a bit, and go skate with a wet tee.

Drink water, skate in the shade, skate at night, don't drink beer, soda etc.. while skating they will dehydrate you. Be happy it is 85, here it has been above 100 for the best week, I sneak out at 8am to get in some slappies.

I'm in AZ and it's 102 right now (it's 11pm), and I skated all day today, so just man the fuck up and skate. If it's really that bad, get up around 6 or 7 and go skating, stop during the day, then skate again around 6 at night.

Freeze some banana slices, grapes, and blueberries overnight.  Bring them to the park or session in a cooler.  Frozen fruit, especially grapes, on a hot day is such a good tasting/feeling snack.

Also,
