I don't get the AO hate?

His part in Bitter Sweet was one of the better parts.  Dude is also steezy as fuck. IMO.

I'll admit its hard having Alex Olson as my favorite skater but his style, trick selection, spot selection and overall personality make up for the lack of solid footage/full part. Whats more important is that I think he is holding back. His "side missions" into music and art are his way of not getting burned out but also making it look like skating is just another fun hobby. I think if he tried really hard for too long he'd be over it and then we wouldn't get to see any footage. Ironically, by trying to be divergent with his low key gem skater mentality he actually ends up being the modern day steady streaming internet clip pro. Anyway at 2:00 he pops the cleanist nollie laser flip (which right away sounds out of place on the topic of Alex Olson) leading me to believe more fully in the idea that he is holding back. I expected him to resurrect (or give birth to?) a nice looking nollie laser flip in Pretty Sweet resembling dylan.'s impossible.

edit: Olson actually fucked up that whole demo

Are you saying that you have to force yourself to continue considering Alex Olson your favorite skater? That's a super weird concept to me. Either he's your favorite or he isn't, you shouldn't have to take all of that shit that you wrote into consideration.

I think he has sold at least 1 board with his name on it. Maybe I am mistaken though.

I can confirm this, I actually bought his deck once.

I wonder if this is the beginning of the Girl/Chocolate decline?

no way, not with the trunk boyz. the trunk boyz are the future of skateboarding in my opinion

I like Alex Olson footage but then again, he's not very good or consistent. That ledge he tailslides to impossible out in Pretty Sweet - it took him literally over 20+ fucking days at a minimum 2+hr sessions(over a 2 month span of time that I witnessed). Yes, it was an amazing trick but I'm pretty sure some of us Slappers on here could do it if they tried it that long(considering I nose and tailslide it going to and from the liquor store). Trying to impossible out for 20+ hours just doesn't seem fun to me and I like to have fun skateboarding.

They're good, but I can't see them leading the pack like Carroll, Koston, Howard, and even BA have.

I've been wondering that myself for some time and it does seem Girl/Chocolate slipped a bit but they represented pretty hard this summer on the PS Tour. Kenny and a couple others seem to drop off for the East Coast leg of the tour but they've been rolling pretty thick as a family for the entire tour. Fully backing Rick Howard, he's a down to earth dude and 100% skateboarder.

Definitely backing this - I really would like to see a company where tours seems like vacation with high quality skating! (and I think that AO BA and AG really have quality).

...that clip of BA talking about his tattoos looked like the intro to an amateur porn  8)

Nah I think he's just trying to fill a void since Strike a Pose got ran off the boards. He's definitely just as lame but a little bit more bitter towards the world.
