8.6 Deck
« on: July 11, 2013, 04:24:02 PM »
I just got the invite to a private half pipe and had been wanting to build an 8.6 set up for a while.  Anybody riding one or have any suggestions?  Looking right now at Anti Hero or Creature.

I went from 8.5 to 8.62 and now am riding an antihero xxl that's 8.75 x 32.75, Thunder 151's and 54mm stf's. It's awesome. Weirdly I find flip tricks easier on it. I'm 6'5" though. Just normal street skating and I can only do lip tricks on transition under 6 feet so no experience in a real bowl. It's just one board. Buy one. If you don't like it, fuck it. Don't buy another.

this. i love my black label 8.88 ( they also make 8.6), they have great shapes and concave. and of course creature and AH have great shapes and concave too. try one out and see, i don't think i'd like skating anything under 8.5 anymore after skating 8.5-8.88 the last couple years. you might want to up your wheel size a bit if you're going to be skating big transition on the regs....i always like my trucks to relatively match my board size too, jus sayin

Thanks to everyone who posted something constructive.  I have the AH and some 149's on the way and will put a pic on The Set Up thread when I put it together.

I upped my wheel size to 55's for the transition and just because I was burnt out on 2 years of 52/53's straight.  I'm fired up to at least be on something different for a minute.
