Journey
« on: July 27, 2013, 03:48:49 AM »
Dear god , not sure how I missed this game but its amazing . Even with all the hype it had I would almost say it wasnt hyped up enough .
Everything is perfect in it , the graphics , the controls , the story , the setting and mood , the story . And holy fucking hell the music .

Playing through it the first time had me almost in tears the first time .

Anybody ells play this game and feel the same ?

It was definitely hyped up enough and received the praise it deserves. It won many game of the year awards.

One of the best experiences I have had in gaming.

Chills, foreal, not even figuratively.  Especially in the surfing areas and the end.

I forgot about this game. I'm gonna buy it right now.
Before you say the music sucked, have you considered shutting the fuck up?

That's a heavy list. Ni no Kuni is my jam.

So I just finished playing the game. I'm not sure I get it. Little dude goes on journey to transcend, he does, the end? Music and ambiance were great for sure though.

I think the story is what you make of it, but it seems to just be about a pilgrimage of some sort.
The rest is all atmosphere.  The intuitive gameplay is part of the fun too.

Spoilers

From what I got from the story ,  There was a normal people who lived by the land , growing stuff . From the heavens / stars / space the carpet / scrolls came along , giving them spiritual powers and energy . They used this power to build a advanced society , the carpet scrolls powering the citys . they moved on from farming and build more and more and higher and higher

However the power dissapered . And fighting broke out over the carpets that were left , war with the dragon thingys also powerd with carpets . With power dissapearing and the war , everything turned to ruins , death and sand . Tons of graves

From the cutscenes they show you coming from the stars / space ,  what for not sure yet . But going to to the mountain to find something
You gain more spiritual power and learn the history in the secrets and visions with the White one . They lead you the way

Now in the snowstorm , I figure either you die and you go to niarvana / heaven , or the white ones give you the power and boost to continue to the mountain . If you die and go there , when you reach the end you are reborn and start the journey again

Birth , Childhood , Adolescence , Adulthood , Old age , Self actualization , Rebirth  . The journey of life

Also , kinda if you make the journey through life with another person , its easier
