This is a serious wtf moment for skateboarding.
We are a pretty sad generation of skateboarders and people if we can watch and listen to a person openly admit that they sodomized another individual with a screwdriver and try and casually brush ti off as internet sensationalism.

I understand people hate Berra (and yes, the interview did come off as prepped with regards to Chase's answers on the Berrics), and Brink did what he thought best at a moment of spontaneous divulgence, but hello! I don't know where you people live but sticking screwdrivers up other people's behinds (or locking them in dog cages covered in raw meat (or other untold horrors)) is a serious offence.

There's no doubt this will go nowhere, but I can only hope Chase Gabor is blacklisted by the skateboarding community (and why not the Berrics while we're at it).

punching him? bad idea. calling the cops? stupid idea. responding the way you normally would if you weren't on a talk show & this had came up in a 1 on 1 conversation... not the worst idea. nobody would stop watching your show if you stood up for some kids that got sexually abused by this pervert. if anything, you'd probably get rewarded and more people would be interested in you. it did kind of come out of no where & i'm sure it was hard to fully think it through but, laughing it off and acting like it's no big deal is kind of strange. not saying you had to get in argument with the dude or flip shit but... you could have at least just said 'well, that's pretty fucked up' or 'wow, that's pretty weird man'. just something man, anything. nobody gave a shit about what this dude had to say to begin with, the only reason i clicked was because i saw rowley's name on there. you guys have gone out of your way to somewhat clown on berra before, or at least the ride channel has. and that was only for being a kook, he didn't stick a sharp object into a kid's asshole. i'm not hating on you or saying you handled this completely wrong... i'm just saying that most of us would have handled it differently.

lastly, you could have just not ran this part of the interview. that would have prevented this whole discussion from happening and kept this guy out of people's minds.... i'm sure nobody had ever put much thought into the guy before this interview was posted anyway.

I agree.  Screwdriver in anus>Hot Karl.  It's a close one though.  It would depend on if I knew the person and what kind of screwdriver.  If it was a hot girl then no question, bring on the heat.  However, if it was a stranger I think I might take a screwdriver if it was in a condom or at least not very sharp.  And the insertion depth would be a factor as well, but I guess that goes without saying.

Well, there's a time and a place to "keep it real" and a time and a place to do your job and look out for yourself and no do or say shit that is gonna jeopardize anything you are doing. I've burned a lot of bridges by "keeping it real" over the years and it's not fun. Hopefully you all know the difference ... if you are a waiter and a customer is being an asshole, you suck it up and do your job. You don't go off on them so they never come back and get yourself fired ... to have a career in skateboarding, you have to play along somewhat. And EVERYONE plays along.
