New Balance # containment thread
« on: September 01, 2013, 04:10:15 PM »
I went ahead and ordered the stratford 479s from buyskateshoes.com, size 11 in red/ yellow. I Wouldn't normally spend 85$ on skate shoes but the suspense has been killing me. Wasn't really digging the other models, hopefully NB# can come up with some more original designs. Here's to hoping for nice PJ/ Arto pro models, you know they're coming

Love the red color, since they didn't have black/ black I went with the next best option... apparently they fit true to size, so I just ordered my size.. Will post a review on Tuesday, it's Labor day tomorrow in Canada which is going to be torture (unless you're working!)

So has anyone tried the NB# shoes? How do they skate? How do they fit?

buyskateshoes.com was the first place I found them, they are seemingly impossible to get

I got the Stratford also. Usually wear 9.5-10 but mainly 10s. I just went with a 10. Been getting recommendations to go half size up. But 10 just felt just right.

Apparently they fucked up manufacturing and could only satisfy a fraction of the initial orders. I'm bummed because I want the navy ones PJ skated at BATB but my shop didn't get any in my size. They may die out before they take off due to shitty distribution and limited availability. I ended up getting the Project BAs as my runner/skate/chiller. Now that's an amazing shoe.

And that fucking red/yellow color is atrocious.

They had all three models at my local shop. I was excited to check them out. To be honest the weren't anything special. On one if the shoes the toe had obvious manufacturing mistakes. Seemed kind of cheep.

There has to be something going to shit behind the scenes, because the shoes aren't widely available yet. Doesn't Fallen handle the production?

Like almost everyone says, the shoes we've seen so far are "modest" looking, to say the least. There are a few that are ok, but you would think with that kind of brand they would come out the gates swinging. Anybody seen the dealership listing in the current magazines? The layout, everything about that just screams cheap.

People said the same stuff about nike SB. NB# started simple with 2 vulcs and 2 cupsoles, and one hell of a welcome video. Pretty good start so far

If Fallen is done then Jamie Thomas and Jack Curtin should get on NB and if they get Jake Johnson, they'll have a pretty rad team

they just don't look any good, like they've slapped a so called skate friendly sole on to a new balance shoe, it doesn't look right

What? New Balance shoes are hella padded normally, the skate line is very conservative with materials. It's ideally a 1 piece upper with a skate sole and grip. What did you expect them to put a nike swoosh on the side?

I'm old as hell, so I have to run to avoid getting fat. New Balance makes the best running shoes on the market, hands down. Their shoes come in a full range of widths as well, which is huge if you aren't a typically built runner. I've been loyal to the brand for years. I truly believe they have been instrumental in me becoming an accomplished distance runner, to the extent of me graduating down to their Minimus, which's support is next to barefoot. I will never buy a different brand for running.

I only skate in Vans.

Merell makes the best running shoes guy

I bought 3 pairs of these, used to run in minimus trail zero, NEVER going back to NB
