Would you be opposed to soccer type lacing system
« on: September 03, 2013, 02:13:18 PM »
we all know it's a bitch to break laces all the time, skate companies should start doing this to save them laces

patent 9384849404

or you could do a skate shoe like..

There is no creativity in the industry, skate shoes have been the same for 20 years

I'm open to the idea of this, but laces on the inside of the shoe would be alot harder than the outside like these football boots, the laces that I found always worked best are the hidden loops in the adio kenny v1's

Lacing towards the outside of the foot wouldn't work for skating. I can't imagine the laces towards the inside. I'd like something like this, not including that exposed part on top obviously.

Sounds like it would make the fit really good and the laces wouldn't break. So no.

i had these when they first came out and they lasted so long i got sick of looking at them and had to retire them. pretty ugly, but they skated well. i liked it better when nike was trying to innovate.

ANGUS! That shoe looked cool and futuristic when it came out, I still think it looks cool. Durable outer, no lace rippage, good grip.. The only shoe that was different recently was the dylan gravis joint. I'm hoping for a skate shoe that's low to the ground, laces impossible to rip, and the option to go barefoot. Noone is even trying anymore, so I welcome all these CORPORATE companies to outdo the shit product skate shoe companies churn out

Nike and Adidas will only put the minimal amount of technology in because that's what skaters want....what sells more janoskis or prods?

They have been the same since day 1, an inside lace option not only looks dope, it works//....

I would love to hear someone's argument as to why skateboard laces should be centered, soccer players keep them out to kick the ball, should't we keep them out to kick the board?

don't you mean in? otherwise it'd just be exposing more lace area to the grip.... also since when is soccer anything like skating? im not tryna be a dick here but i think a lot of people have just come to accept that show laces are gonna break and in the grand scheme of skating, it's not a huge deal. it wont end a session for the day like a broken board or base plate. fucking tie that shit off. or take some initiative and put a dab of super glue on the lace where you know it's gonna break and voila.. unbroken shoelace without shoes that look straight regular. come back to me when you have a product that makes ankles indestructible. now those will sell

Emerica used to be all about lace protection w the Barley's and Ellington's - they'd surround the laces with material or put the nub protectors on.

i had some zoom tre AD's that had optional hidden lace loops just like these and they were great. surprised more shoes don't more shit like that. seems like everything is so fashion over function these days

The Ecue was one of the best Nike shoes ever. They were so durable and everybody hated them so they always had 10's in the sale racks.

I don't know about your guys' experiences, but the Adidas "recessed eyelets" on the Busenitz and Ronan's worked perfectly.  The laces never tore, and those are usually the first things to go.

DC was all over that too.

THE O.G. LYNX <3 (r.i.p.)

would support d.c. if they still made that shoe but not after they turned it into this monstrosity.
