depends on what you mean by injure. Could be just re-injuring something like a torn ligament. Or you need to learn how to fall better, I really like David Gravette's penguin slide.

Once a week?! You gotta learn how to fall.

man this is me. I get injured all the time because of ligamentous laxity. I just messed up my hip tendon two weeks ago and haven't been able to skate since. I broke my wrist at some point in the past two years, but never went to a doctor because I didn't know it was broke. Now if I brace for impact with my left wrist it sprains. I've learned to roll out of falls more often now instead. Take glucosamine.

the key is to allow yourself to heal up properly before rushing back on the board while your ligaments in your ankles are still weak from your last sprain, thats why my friend who is PT major.  Also do strength exercises too to strengthen you ankles, yeah its mad jock, but just do it.  I mean Austyn Gillette does it too

Is this like hypermobiloty? I've got a shoulder that dislocates from a firm bump or even just twisting the wrong way when I jump. It's made some tricks impossible for me. I need surgery but don't know if I can keep skating until I get it done. It's really fucking with me.

I found the best solution to this was to stop skating and practice falling.

No board, just practice throwing yourself on the ground for a while.

At least around half a year.

I roll an ankle or take a slam at least once a session usually and just run it off, you dont see anyone here making threads about injuring them selves. Hurting yourself is a part of skating. suck it up or quit.

I just broke my ankle in three places. It was my first break. I still might need surgery. Anyone ever break their ankle. What am I in for? And how hard is it to relearn tricks? Or is it still gonna bother me when I land on it skating.

i slammed my left knee a while ago and every time i hit it its like the original slam comes back, even a slight hit. same with my right now that i slammed that one. ive concluded you just have to wait it out and dont skate for like a week let it heal. ice it every day. peace

Just came off a nasty sprain on my pushing foot's ankle a little over a month ago; fucked around and rolled my lead ankle last night at the end of an otherwise great session.  Should have known when to quite.  FUCK.  Hoping for a speedier recovery as it didn't feel as severe as last time.  But if it take more than 4 weeks, that may be it for me til next spring. Grrrrrrrrrr........

I have a broken leg and ankle. Had surgery a few weeks back on my ankle (metal plates). I'm already having lucid dreams involving skating. -_- road to recovery ~6 months to a year... I'm with ya dude.
