Some of the most fun sessions Ive ever had were on curbs. There used to be this red curb in this plaza near the house where I grew up that me and my homies used to session all the time back in the day. I learned a good number of grind tricks on that thing. It was a pretty long red curb, so me and the homies used to haul ass and see who could grind the longest on it. One of the crowning achievements in my early skate days was back 5-0ing the whole thing, balanced the whole thing with no tail scrape at all. The homies were so damn hyped when I got it. It might not be much today, but oh man did it feel so damn good, and the after trick high I got for it lasted for a good couple days. We would skate that thing so much that all the red paint would be gone in just days, and when that happened they would just pay someone to repaint it, then we would keep skating it. It was awesome. That was our routine for the longest time.
Hell, even to this day I still think there are only a few things in skating that is as fun as fucking around on a good curb. I'm always down to skate one.
It sucks because a lot of the friends I skate with now are so against skating curbs. "Dude, fuck that, why would you wanna skate a curb? That's too simple, that's some beginner shit. Why skate a curb when we can just sesh "insert ledge spot here" or go skate the box at the park?" Fuck em. They just don't understand.
