Hate to add another comment on the same thread, but why are people so disappointed at the first and second offerings? I would say 99% of successful skate brands didn't start out as instant bangers. Wait patiently for the full release, and give it some time to mature.
Couldn't disagree more. Politic, Magenta, Scum, The Killing Floor, Scumco, and Polar crushed it right out of the gate. I could list about a dozen more, but those come to mind instantly. Love them or hate them, they set a tone for their vision and who they were from the word go. 3D is just silly and a generic mess. It feels rushed and goofy. Like Will says above, a watered down Skate Mental, which is actually a pretty corny brand to begin with. You know what BA did? Took Crailtap board molds (and wood) and barfed a bunch of silly graphics on them.
And completely agree with Deekay's post...the 'give it time' is just a copout and excuse. it's ironic to me that for as much shit as Olson took for jumping ship on Girl and 3D he seems to be building his brand in a very particular way before dropping it.
