Fuck, Arto has been one of my favorite skateboarders ever. Infallable, even. But then I watched this interview on hellaclips, which was otherwise pretty awesome, but it showed him skating some park as a kid with a swazi in the background. Hoping this is just some random incident in the background and not a statement by the videographer of his upbringing?.

I'm more concerned he hasn't locked that smith in at all.

But yeah random masking tape in some random park he is skating as a kid is definitely concerning too.

It's definitely a feeble.

Skateparks are a catch all for regular teenage behaviour though. A kid would draw swastikas at my local park because he was/is a complete moron, but that doesn't mean the group of people that skated there are minority hating neo-nazis.

I'm not going to go as far as to accuse Arto of repping that bullshit, but I don't think "lol kids are retards" works in Europe when it comes to swastikas and shit.

I fully agree that you can skate somewhere as a naive kid and have no idea what's going on around you in the bigger scene. I'm more concerned that this biographer chose two clips where the swastika is clearly visible. why include these clips at all? they contribute nothing but controversy.

the fact that you'd even question his morals as a result of seeing something that kinda looks like a swastika in the background of a photo is probably more questionable. why are you so afraid of swastikas? do you think arto wanted to gas jews as a child because there was something that almost looked like a swasi at the local park? what really concerns you here?

read my original post, i'm more questioning the documentarian than questioning Arto. The dude included two old clips with the swazi clearly visible. Why include them at all when you know it's an inflammable topic?

I think we should gather all the people involved in the masking tape incident and put them on trains to designated areas where they have to work with little or no food for a long period of time and brand them so we know who they are. For the record, and since I did the interview you'll have to take my word for it even though the part was edited, Arto says in it that his buddy tried to decorate the whole garage with the most provocative scotch tape art possible : satanist shit, swastikas, etc. Just being kids, I guess.

lol that pool was in asbury park, nj. Bob losito is one of the shop owners around here, but I don't think he has the best reputation hence the speedo phrase.

the symbol has to be at a diagonal angle to be considered a NAZI swastika. since it is NOT, it is the hindu swastika which literally means it is good. IT IS GOOD
