Music Documentaries/Biopics?
« on: May 14, 2014, 12:35:17 AM »
Just a thread to post up good music-related documentaries and biopics, as well as upcoming ones. Here's a few I enjoy:

The National

Sixto Rodriguez

Daniel Johnston

The Band

Joy Division

So Colllin have the same t-shirts, seven years by now, at least...

I threw the Hardcore Pride EP on my cardio mix last night and started looking around and saw this was posted on YouTube.  Great footage of one of the 90's best and now somewhat forgotten hardcore bands.

Grateful Dead The Movie is pretty ill, I definitely recommend it even if you're not a fan of the band. Rhyme and Reason I also enjoyed watching. There's one about turntablists/hip hop DJ's called "Scratch" or "Skratch" can't remember which but I always wanted to watch it. I think there's one about chiptune (video game musicians) that I wanted to see but can't remember the name of it if anyone knows. Def going to watch that Daniel Johnston flick if I get a chance, he did the song in KIDS while Casper and Harold and the crew are beating the crap out of holmes that gets in Casper's way incase anyone here didn't know.

the daniel johnston one is awesome, he's got a lot of good songs but dude is nuttier than dogshit! i don't wanna spoil it but he pulled some seriously bucknutty stunts that should've definitely gotten him killed, jailed and other bad things. his song 'speeding motorcycle' is actually about a moped. dj is the cat's pajamas.
