Why the fuck is Alien Workshop closing when companies like Plan B and Expedition are still in business? I understand with half the team gone, things are going to be difficult, and some things within the company are going to have to change, but I feel like Dyrdek is just throwing in the towel. They still have a good team, they have a good image. Get a new art director, put out a new video and give some new life to the company. This fucking sucks. Im going to go watch all the Alien videos and pretend this isn't happening.

This cant be real. Its legitimately the greatest skateboard company ever? No one else has been able to pull this kind of longevity with such a respectable and consistent aesthetic.

They made that decision themselves, all AVE could do is make an offer. If just the fact of being on a team with AVE and Dill was enough to get them to leave then their allegiances weren't that thick to begin with because I'm sure FA didn't make them an offer they couldn't refuse from a financial standpoint. I don't think Dill and AVE hate workshop, it just wasn't where they wanted it to be anymore but I'm sure they still look back on their years there with some pride and respect. If this is all true then it's got to have a lot more behind it than simply losing a few riders. They still had a killer team behind it. The only thing I can imagine literally putting them under would be having to do with the ownership behind it. I'm not too savvy on that whole situation but I've heard some sketchy things about deals made after Dyrdek bought the company and I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with it. Who knows, though? Sure we'll hear something soon.

How would Alien vanish if their riders did as well? What i'm trying to say is the amount of skaters on a team can be independent of the success of a company. I could imagine a company totally existing while having no riders, as many leeching ass action sports[i/] brands do

Team riders still are a good indication within skateboarding. Anyway just thought Alien was more successfull than it actually currently is.with their Warhol and Haring collab product being sold in more than just skateshops. Also going to miss it's art direction and video edits....so far from what many corny ass brands upload to the internet on a constant basis.
