"What is going to happen to all your other brands like Threat, Mystery, Slave and Black Box Distribution itself? Are they done?
We are selling the last run Threat boards now and the other brands will continue on through Black Box for now"

so threat goes out of business?

Threat never had a chance...it was uninspired from the beginning.  Hopefully this will free up Slave a little. It's interesting how some brands just seem to run their course and then fade away. I don't see much future for Zero or Mystery either. It's unfortunate.

Poor Forrest.  From flow to pro to bro in a year.  I blame Garrett's pants.

Why not just put Forrest on Mystery and call it a day. They got no kind of pros on the team anyways.

This may really hurt Darkstar sales.

Good luck.

Will you be chasing Habitat to help with Slave and Mystery sales?

This is a great move. Sending Zero and Fallen to get some solid and doused financial management will let Jaimie focus on other awesome companies like Slave.

Correct me of i'm wrong, but I don't think Jamie ever had much to do Slave.

It's a bummer to see some of the biggest brands hurting.  That was a good read though, definitely helped to shirk Jamie's cutthroat image.  It's funny, because really, when you look at it, if a company owner or manager in another industry had policies similar to how Jamie has allegedly handled things, no one would look twice.  But for some reason, since it's skateboarding, it's unfathomable that someone is going to have to make tough and sometimes unfavourable decisions that won't reflect well but are ultimately necessary.

Did you not read the article?

"What is pro skater Forrest Edwards to do now that Threat is done?
We have offered Forrest to go on our next Zero tour to see if he can get down with the dudes on the team. We?ll see how that goes?"

i suppose that it's *because* its skateboarding that those policies get an extra level of analysis that other industries never have to put themselves through.

necessary moves are necessary tho. hopefully zero pulls through and uses music everyone on the team is hyped on in their next video. everyone killed it in cold war.

also what's happening with garrett hill? is he getting back on zero or what?

Yeah....but it's like he's doing try outs again when he had a solid spot on Threat as a pro. So like what if he doesn't get along with the Zero guys. It's like he got demoted and to not even AM. I just think they'd just make things easier and put him on Mystery since there really isn't that many people on the team anyways.

It's strange how brands that have been so huge are going through this. Alien Workshop being sold to a corporation and then going to shit, now Zero going to Dwindle (technically a skate brand but judging by where I see Darkstar boards I'm going to consider them a corporate brand). Meanwhile, brands that died after the 90s are coming back or came back, like Stereo and Shorty's.

All of this seems so familiar. The corporate involvement, massive contests, core brands shifting around or dying out completely... are we about to meet the next skatepocalypse?

No, I don't see why industry issues would affect the general love for skateboarding towards youth. Kids don't give a shit about those problems.

I mean, you won't keep selling product, when your product is shit. I don't know about zero boards, but fallen shoes are notoriously low quality. I bought a tan pair of jack curtains, and the soles fell off in three weeks. I never skated them once, I got them as chillers. And I've heard a million other stories of the same. You can't put garbage out there, especially in a competitive market, and expect people to keep buying them. Maybe dwindle will be able to put more money into the brand, and the quality will rise, and with that, sales.

Side note, how is dwindle so flush? What company do they have that's raking in money? Cliche, maybe? I don't think I've seen blind, dark star, or tensor product in a shop since I was maybe 18.
