There was a car thread wasn't there??  One Pal had a super nice white MK5 GTI.

If money was no option...

Daily -  AMG C63 wagon.

Weekend -  Focus RS.

Midlife crisis - that black/carbon SR group Audi R8.

Anyways interested to hear what Slap would have if you hit the lotto.

Before you say the music sucked, have you considered shutting the fuck up?

I've got a shit Merc A140. Perfect for having two kids. It works and is fun to drive. Not that fussed about cars though. Dream car? Ford Sierra Cosworth, old school baby.

Pretty sure we've had this thread before but whatever. I'm pretty obsessed with cars. This is my current drive.

E36 M3. We get the proper 'Euro-spec' engine here, not the shitty USA underpowered garbage. Just fitted a new exhaust, coil-overs and lightweight flywheel/clutch kit. Pretty happy with it. I hardly ever drive it seeing as I work 4 weeks straight in the middle of nowhere, but it's fun when I get the chance. Looking at an old 911 3.2 when I go on break next week, should be interesting.

Wow. That would have been a sick job!  What did you get to drive??

FWD isn't too bad now days. Just look at the Focus RS. That will keep up with anything on the twisty stuff.

The E36 M3 didn't come in auto in Australia. Mine is a 1994 3.0 5 speed manual. The update with the 3.2 was available with a sequential manual, which was a piece of shit. BMWs, especially old ones and super especially M models cost heaps to repair. The key is preventative maintenance. It helps that I'm a BMW mechanic by trade but the saying goes 'If you can't afford a new M3, you can't afford and old one.'

Yeah, that's an SMG, which technically isn't an auto. It's the same gearbox as the manual, it just has an electro-hydraulic operated clutch. They are prone to hydraulic pump failure, servo failure and just drive terribly around town. A lot of people convert them to manual, which doesn't take much work, being the same box. I've done a few myself.

Ahhhhhh I see. I only got to drive it for about 20 minutes and it was terrible. I was fucking puzzled driving it.

Probably the second worst gearbox I've ever had the displeasure of using (worst being the SAAB Sensonic). The later versions were marginally better (SMGII in the E46 M3 and SMGIII in E60 M5) but still shifted violently in normal day to day driving and are second-mortgage material to fix when they go wrong, which happens. Often. If you're in Melbourne let me know, I'd be happy to take you for a spin.

I'd love an E39 M5. Dropped on some deep dish 3 piece rims.
That was the last of the V8s right?

but I'd like to save up and re do a 70's with the EFI conversion and all the other makelifeeasier things, except for power steering and automatic trans, those are for sissies.

Yep, and arguably one of the best cars to ever come out of the M division. BMW really nailed it with that model. I was going to buy one a few months back but the upkeep on one is frighteningly expensive, and that's coming from someone who's looking at buying an air-cooled 911!

E30 Touring is a real honey. Shoe horn an S50B30 motor in there and flatten some mountains!

I have a 2009 golf on coilovers and what would be considered "stanced." Stretched tires on wide wheels sits about 2 inches off the ground. Slow as shit though.

I had a cafe racer until recently. Sold it to pay wife's tuition. I didn't skate from 19-26 because I was into racing. Not street, track. Drag with a few different Mustangs and a Camaro. Fastest pass 10.13 @ 133. Then did track days and autocross in a Rabbit and a couple different Civic's. Had a few cruisers over the years. Two g bodys and 65 Chevelle four door on Air Ride.
