Seriously, what in the HELL is he talking about? There's dudes pushing the envelope in every direction right now! Tech-wise, big shit-wise, consistency-wise, style-wise, creativity-wise, every fucking thing is happening out there in the industry as far as I can see.

I knew we'd start getting some "sour grapes" type comments eventually from the old guard as their vision of skating ceases to be the dominant one, but it's still surprising to hear pioneers like Dune sounding so out of touch.

It's cool Chris - you get endless passes just for Tincan Folklore alone.

Just to balance the discussion here. I don't think Chris was referring to Welcome specifically, but all the kids that try to imitate that scene. I really don't see a problem with his comment. He's right. Skateboarding got boring when everyone was trying to be like Zero 'dying to live' as well as Osiris 'the storm' eras. I see supreme clones constantly aping that bonless-color-grip-foot-plant scene all over. It went from kids trying shit they couldn't do (like flipping down huge sets w/o being able to ollie) to compensating for lack of skill by doing simple 80's tricks.

In the end, it's all THE CYCLE OF SKATEBOARDING. Boards break, clothes rip, wheels flatspot, and trends die. The end.
