i know its been said, but you guys really need to work on ur audio. either get a decent lapel mic or at least do some work in post. I can't hear what jb is saying without putting headphones in. otherwise ur interviews are great
I;m sure i;m not the only dc/monster/subaru type guy here

A few of people have said that, hence me doing some work on the audio for the Lucas interview.

Thing is, to me I can hear it all perfectly (honestly it seems crystal clear to my ears) and I thought my laptop speakers were gash so I couldn't understand such comments at first. With some of the earlier interviews that I didn't film (ones that were done in public places) such criticism was appropriate but with these done in a near silent environment it made seemed to make no sense. But, given it has been brought up more than once, I have to assume that (for some device formats at least) the sound isn't transferring well.

So yeah, I'm not too proud to admit that we're gonna have to make an effort to improve things.

The JB one has quite some static background noise, but you could use adobe audition to get rid of that. Generally I feel like the audio level of the interviews is lower than the music - so if you just turn up the level of your recorded audio it should be just fine. Hope this helps.

Yeah, to be fair you're right; I did my best to remove the static from the Lucas one, still had people complaining mind. To be honest though, the music was taken down to a starting level of -6.5dB (and then down to -14.6dB before fading out) and the audio pushed up to +3dB. I then play around with it until I figure the balance works between the song fading out and the discussion starting - obviously I need to run it by somebody else first, perhaps my ears are overly sensitive!

Either way, I hope it hasn't taken too much away from what the guys themselves have to say - that's the important bit!

Not interviews but I wanted to post these (but didn't feel I should clog things up with yet another new thread):

Firstly the Supra Avex Shoe Launch in Barcelona last month with the likes of Tom Penny, Javier Sarmiento, Spencer Hamilton and Lucien Clarke in attendance (none of them actually skated but you can't blame me for name dropping Penny when he was there, can you?). On the other hand Oscar Candon, Thibaud Fradin, Doug McLaughlan and more fought through the barrels of free booze to actually have a roll.

If the Youtube version doesn't work due to music licensing please use this link for alternate hosting: http://mpora.com/videos/AAdzpb347ymf

Then, myself and a few Route One lads visited Madrid last Spring with the help of Red Bull. This is the edit I made:

Haha, rad! Such a shame it was rainy day, with that crowd a visit to Les Corts could've been epic.

great stuff as usual.

Gino Iannucci: The R1 Interview Pt.1

The good folk at Mighty Healthy managed to hook us up with his, so massive thanks to them. Part one covers the standard topics; Move to FA, his start with Black Label, the Gonz Gap backside heel and subsequent move to 101. Part two explores further subjects so keep an eye out for that!

Gino 1/2 Brummy! How the fuck they made it look almost pretty is mind boggling too.

He's already setting his footage expectations pretty low. Good to see.

Whatever he and Dill agreed to is probably just some bullshit "don't need to produce skate footage you're a legend" type agreement. Oh well....hate to say it but too much hype already for Gino FA footy. It's going to be a huge let down if it's just a photo or short clip with all this hype "he's on the team" shit.

Last week saw the UK premiere of Vans 'Propeller' take place at the Prince Charles Cinema in London's historic Leicester Square. Many of the team, including Rowley, Trujillo, Cab, AVE, Hosoi and more were in attendance and I went along to capture the feeling of the night on film. Also got to witness Cab and Hosoi skating the House of Vans bowl at one in the morning!

Before the premiere I got chance to interview Daniel Lutheran, Kyle Walker and Chris Pfanner - keep an eye out for those interviews dropping over the coming weeks....

A couple of weeks ago, literally half an hour before Propeller's London premiere took place, we were lucky enough to have a quick chat with Vans and Toy Machine Pro Daniel Lutheran. Sadly time constraints meant we were pretty rushed but he's a genuinely great lad and we managed to squeeze these thoughts out of him:

Kyle Walker and Chris Pfanner interviews coming next week.

dan lu is the best, he kinda has that midwest "makes you think hes stupid" voice but if you actually listen to him for more than 30 seconds dude is super articulate and clearly a very smart guy. More than I can say for the rest of skateboarding...
