It would be cool if Ben Horton teamed up with Russ Pope and they did $lave and Transportaion Unit out of the same distro.

I could actually see that happening and it would be rad.

I feel like Slave should have been headquartered from a garage all along. People love supporting the little brands right now and going through a huge distro makes them loose a little bit of that small company feeling.

I will order some boards. Hope they don't take forever with the distro status in purgatory

Have to agree. I always thought $lave seemed rad but have never bought a Blackbox board and never went out of my to ride $lave because that affiliation. I'd be more likely to swoop a deck up post-breakup.

This just looks so fucked seeing these companies together, why does the Tensor logo look like a toothpaste brand?

Slave was ahead of its time as a small company doing its own thing. The irony is that probably has more value than Zero at this point if everything gets sorted out on the business end to keep it stable.
Nothing wrong with staying in a garage for a company these days?you would probably have better odds of surviving than a lot of companies like Element that have become bloated and outdated over the years. Skateboarding won't really support that type of monster infrastructure that a lot of companies built and tried to maintain. It's easier to stay small and manageable than it is to get bloated and huge and then try to shrink down. Apparently that's what happened with Zero, at least to some degree.
