Nah, you can totally have a marathon and get familiar. It's never too late. If you do, watch the OG versions, avoid the re-releases and avoid the phantom menace.
This. The above order is called the machete order. My friend told me about that and it supposedly makes the series seem more cohesive for first time watchers. Order is IV, V, II, III, VI with episode 1 being omitted, but personally I liked episode one in a strange way (I think because I was still fairly young and impressionable when it came out) so I'd suggest the "Ernst Reist order" IV, V, I, II, III, VI.
Also trailer got me pretty pumped, I'm excited
