Honestly it felt like a fan film at first, but as soon as the Falcon came on the screen with John Williams playing my inner child got extremely excited.

I sometimes wished I was exposed to Star Wars as a kid, but I wasn't, so none of this does anything for me.

I can't watch the films now because I know all the twists and shit from years and years of pop cultural references. I guess it's kind of tainted in a way.

Nah, you can totally have a marathon and get familiar. It's never too late. If you do, watch the OG versions, avoid the re-releases and avoid the phantom menace.

He did become a sith for a short time in the books but I think the movie isn't going to follow the books.

This movie looks promising. Probably the only movie Ill see in theaters.

This. The above order is called the machete order. My friend told me about that and it supposedly makes the series seem more cohesive for first time watchers. Order is IV, V, II, III, VI with episode 1 being omitted, but personally I liked episode one in a strange way (I think because I was still fairly young and impressionable when it came out) so I'd suggest the "Ernst Reist order" IV, V, I, II, III, VI.

Also trailer got me pretty pumped, I'm excited

my uncle is a huge star wars fan so he got me and my brother watching them as soon as he could hahaha
i saw all the original ones young enough that i dont remember not knowing the plot (darth vader=luke's father etc)
super hyped for this, i really hope they dont blow it

How did you guys feel about the Santa Cruz x Star Wars Collaboration and Vans x Star Wars one as well?

I thought Vans Star Wars patterns looked like some toys r us type shoes, but the Santa Cruz decks were alight, nothing to spectacular though. They got a little nuts with that plastic packaging.

the title of these movies always upset me because it makes it seem like the stars are violent and at war with each other, but it's really the people that are being violent and fighting each other. they should have called it "people wars".
