bmc was explaining this to me at the park the other day. does your board make a thud sound almost like when you have softer wheels or do you get that crispy rattle when you drop it or are skating around? (if that makes sense)

I have similar design bearings, just not Bones. Definitely no rattle but that's the way I prefer it. Also I don't want to fuck around with speed rings (or spacers) if I don't have to. I know there's a big divide on the opinion about the necessity of spacers, but at least having the races protrude enough to not have to use speed rings should be something everyone can get behind. Getting rid of small fiddly parts is brilliant.

The thing to keep in mind as well is that speed rings and spacers exist because 608 bearings weren't designed for skateboards. They're actually for large sewing machines and stuff like that.  Extended race bearings are how a skateboard specific bearing would be designed if skating was invented today

After a solid recommendation from jsoy and skating nallid's at the park, I'm a firm believer in these.  Fast as hell right out of the box, never worry about spacers or speed rings again.

What makes them different from standard Bones Reds?

Extended race that makes it so you don't have to use a spacer or speed rings

Those bearings are good and using spacers is good in theory but I feel like it depends on if the space inside of a certain wheel matches with the length of the spacers that are being used. The length for both varies a lot, so sometimes if you have a situation where the spacer is too long compared to the wheel it could actually damage the bearings. I've actually had this happen before in the past and fucked up my bearings pretty badly.
The dude in this vid does a good job explaining it, starts at around 0:40

Just the fact the nut sits on the race and not your shield is enough for me.....there's less contact points.....

I feel relatively confident bones and spits the cores are pretty standard.....

I get it....it's the Internet...'aha!  It's not 100% right...so it's WRONG'

Just think the design is an improvement and would beat the quality of a standard bearing...

Those will be worth a pretty penny in the future if you don't skate them.

Anyway I just bought these. First pair of Adidas ever. I've always loved everything about this shoe but HATE buying shoes full priced.
However this is like my holy grail of colorways (I knew if I didn't get them I'd always regret it.)

Damn, still want to buy a hard copy of the GX1000 vid. I haven't seen it yet and I need Yonnie in my life.

Anyone skated the G6 Herman Vulc? They're on sale and I'm in the mood to throw money away.
