I think it's more they've notched frequencies out of the skating for the music, or vice versa.

that was actually pretty rad, cool skating. i edit videos all day long at work and i didn't notice anything funny about the audio, i just think they killed a lot of the ambient and background noise, which worked well with the music.

yeah it could be something along those lines. i just find it distracting because without those background noises it feels more 'studio' produced than raw street. semi-artificial.
