Im visiting a friend in Chapel Hill who doesnt skate and i dont really want to take a board on the plane because thats never fun.. so im wondering what would be a good place to pick up a board when i get there, and also if there's anywhere good to skate..as far as i know its a fairly obscure place so i don't know if anyone will know but cheers in advance..

bringing your board with you on the plane isn't really a hassle. pm YMHY for those great spots, he'll be very willing to tell you about them

There is some Upful family in NC along with the guys from Twisted Trees. There are some great spots, you just have to spend some time looking around. I believe Vertical Urge is the big shop there, but there are also some tight little mom n pop operations to support in the area. Have fun and enjoy all the trees!
