This is silly. If he wants videos to be like the 90's, he should focus on what really made those videos good...the skateboarding. Tim and Henry Pack of Lies (probably my favorite 90's video) was good not because it was "raw" and "pure." It was because Henry set the standard for street skating for years after that part. 90's videos were very progressive in regards to tricks and no amount VX filming of dudes pushing down the street is going to recreate that.
Even Eastern Exposure was very new when it came to tricks. That wasn't some video trying to represent an earlier time. Even what was seen in Eastern Exposure didn't dominate most of the 90's in terms of imitation. Don't forget that this decade also produced Hocus Pocus, Video Days, Love Child, 20 Shot, Trilogy, Rodney v. Daewon, Questionable, Virtual Reality, Second Hand Smoke, numerous 411's, Photosynthesis, Welcome To Hell, Jump Off a Building, etc. All of which were well produced videos trying to set new standards instead of imitating old ones.
