Capture Camera?
« on: July 30, 2015, 09:12:08 AM »
Hey, new here, if this is the wrong thread for this question let me know!
Ive decided to stop being a lazy sack of shit and use my actual camera to film again instead of my iphone. Only problem is that it uploads via firewire, and I no longer have a computer with a firewire port. Does anyone know of a decent capture cam for miniDV tapes that can upload via USB? I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks.

You can buy a Dazzle box that allows footage to be captured via USB.as a filmer myself the quality from it isn't the greatest.Buy a firewire card and enjoy.

My laptop does not have a card slot. Is there any other way?

don't know about miniDV but i was bringing all my VHS-C footage onto my laptop with "iGrabber" which seems to have worked.

Do you have a PCMIA slot on the side of your laptop? There would be a tray that pops out and such.If so there's a PCMIA firewire card available

You can't import Mini DV with usb, it has nothing to do with the camera as none of them can do it. You'll have to get some sort of converter.
