backside 5050 on pool coping?
« on: December 17, 2015, 02:50:45 PM »
new park opened up with some nice new pool coping. whats the trick to getting back 50s on it? every time I try I either get pitched off or roll out onto the deck. metal coping I can get away with shitty mini-ramp kid style ones where your locked in on your heel side wheels, but that shit doesn't work on any pool block. anyone got any tips?

omg you had to make a thread about it?  you seriously think some words on a forum are going to make you learn them all of a sudden?

here.

go fast, have confidence, and get the angle/carve right.

get out there and practice...

how old are you OP?  seriously I'm curious.

Go fast.
Gonna bite more than metal so jam it in hard.
Keep your shoulders inside.

Very good, have a drink.

id say just do bs 5-0s until you understand whatever the problem is.
remember 50-50 means half on the deck half towards the ramp, youre supposed to be grinding at like a 45 degree angle to the coping (idk if that is intelligible).
should work like 5050ing any other ramp.

To me, the technique is the same, it just feels different and you need to get used to it; especially the teetering sensation you'll feel on top.

You do want to be "on top" although like you said, if your weight is too far back you'll ride out on the deck. Concentrating on your front truck being on coping helps that.

The other big difference is that you want to get off while you still have momentum to do so. Again, it's not so different than on a mini but it is different.

FWIW, my back truck is usually locked in heelside while my front is on toeside - although sometimes it's not.

go fast at a bs angle and go for a regular axle stall and youll prolly grind. also helps to have husky wheels
