From the Fallen demise thread:

It definitely sucks to see shoe brands ran by skaters go out of business but it looks like there'll be a new one soon, the newest issue of Transworld says Joe Castrucci and Kevin Furtado from Dekline are starting State footwear and may have Ben Gore, Kevin Coakley, and Christian Maalouf

Damn that sounds sick. Hope the shoes aren't just vans/cons clones.
[close]

They are really good looking. A few good vulc and cupsole shoes in the first line. They also have Jon Nguyen and Jordan Sanchez

Searched a little and found some pics on instagram and their page... Really excited to see what's coming from them.

Looks like another company geared toward the high water fashionstas. Makes no difference to me that they're skater owned.

I always thought Joe should have made Habitat shoes a completely different brand with a different name and pick up guys from more than just Habitat. I was bitchin' that no one is starting any new skate shoe brands nowadays besides Filament, and these are exactly the type of guys I would want behind a new brand so I'm stoked. Now the shoes just have to not suck.

Those look like chucks without the rubber toe cap. So very unoriginal.  :-\

Let's hope it's not all shit like that.

I do like my Habitat Kerry Getz shoes. Starting to finally fall apart though.

I saw those and thought they were cons one stars. From that top view they look pretty similar.
We cant judge the shoes or the brand yet. We didnt even seen a pic of whole shoe.
The catalog can have nice looking shoes but i think we already know to not expect some tech cupsole revival from them.

With all due respect, you're nuts if you think Lakai or Huf's quality is the same as Vox or Fallen's. That is just not the case.

Yeah they seem cool to me. Can't really judge because we haven't even seen a real shoe yet. But they seem to follow a similar construction to huf and cons, which isn't really to say they are copying, that's just a tried and true method of designing shoes. I do like the embroidered "S" logo on the tongue.

Who knows, this might be kinda rad. And I really like what Joe Castrucci has done in the past, so I'll support him on this endeavor unless they are hideous... which doesn't appear to be the case.

Solid team too. Skateboarding needs this. Let's just fucking support these guys and bring skateboarding home again.

They don't look terrible although they aren't really breaking any molds either.  Essentially each shoe is very similar to another companies shoe, the same as almost all "new" shoes the last 2-3 years.  From the pics, the construction looks nice anyway.

I'm hoping that this first drop is just to get established and after that happens, they'll start making some cupsoles and more original models.  I liked those cupsole Habitat shoes that Suciu used to wear all of the time, so something like that would be cool.

What do the people who hate on nike and complain about skater owned design/quality wear? I'm legitimately curious.

Dekline 2.0

Yeah not a bad launch, but this first line has more of a vibe to Dekline's last catalog than it does Habitat's last shoe catalog. The Baxley model is either the Jaws or Wayland and the Mercer is an updated Santa Fe mid.

Looking forward to possible future cupsole offerings.
