i had a bunch of dc lynx vulc samples and the insoles were exactly this kind of bs. totally useless, they made my heels ache every time i'd miss a manual. i thought this stuff was only for sample use and that no one would ever include it in actual product.
[close]

I did buy these from a reputable shop, so I guess this really is what the Tim Tims came with. The insoles are even worse than they look in the pic. It's that most cheapest foam shit which is way too soft and crumbles if you rub it even a bit. Fabric is also 100% shit. I've walked maybe 10 km with these insoles and the fabric is all rubbed and uneven and unpleasant. I guess they were really trying to cut costs.

yeah, the dc ones that i came across must be made at the same place. they sound identical with the shitty foam that disintegrates if rubbed. it must be like how some companies print a batch of lighters or key chains with the company logo for advertising purposes, dc and dekline must have done the same with their insoles  :)

They're marked down, and buy one get one half off. Grab them if you want them.

Where was all the marketing for this? If it wasn't for slap I feel like I would have never heard of these which is probably a big reason why they aren't selling. If I walked into a shop (especially if I was a typical Zumiez customer) and saw a generic shoe by a brand I've never heard of I wouldn't buy it.

Jenkem did an article. They have ads in multiple mags. I'm sure they don't have much of a marketing budget. Shit, they don't even have a warehouse outside of Kevin Furtado's garage.

Although they sell at Zumiez, it seems like they aren't trying to do anything but provide an alternative to corporate skate shoes and established core brands that've generalized themselves to redundancy.
I’m a ghost that everyone can see.

I'm wearing the Mercer, bought at 35th North in Seattle (a highly reputable shop responsible for the All City Showdowns across the country). they are the best shoes I have had in a long time. I just came here to rave about them so I haven't read the previous 8 pages, but if they are already going under than that sucks. For the billionth time, fuck skaters who give their money to jock idiots instead of other skaters, and fuck those jock idiots for obvious reasons. (It occurs to me that I could just refer to both parties as jock idiots, but I'll leave it as is for clarity's sake).

I finally got around to buying a pair of the Hudsons. I started skating them last week and I love them. I bought a pair of Cons CTAS at the same time as the States just for the hell of it because they were dirt cheap and I've never had a pair besides the original CTS Ox. I have to say I don't understand the appeal of the ctas besides maybe the look. The rubber toe is hard and not actually that rubbery. I could do most of my tricks but even when I got used to them they didn't feel that good.

I tried the State Hudsons on and it was a night and day difference. I could suddenly do everything. The grip is really good and really allows for a solid flick. I usually skate vans and really love grippy shoes and these are great. They broke in really fast and are flexible without being too floppy. I am genuinely surprised how good they are. They are miles better than anything Dekline put out. I will definitely be buying another pair of States, maybe the Mercer next. I hope they do well and improve in the marketing dept. because the shoes are on point.

Every shoe is sold out on their website, most shops (even Tactics) don't even carry them. Trying to get the Mercer mid is like catching sasquatch in Canada.

I'm hoping for State to hit Australia, but I don't think it is any time soon. I like the simple shoes and name, Kevin seems like a good guy and the team is a great mix.

I'm a size 11.5-12 depending on the shoe, want to get the mercer but that homebase link only has 11 or 12. Should I go with the 12 or will the 11 work?

I wear a size 9.5 in almost everything (except CONS). I'm wearing the "Elgin" in 9.5 and they have quite a bit of wiggle room. I just tried those "Mercers" on in size 9 and they fit pretty snug, but it's super hard to get my foot in them since they're mid-top. I'd recommend the 12's for sure.
