I had quit skating after high school for years. College and partying girls etc...came back to seeing Tom Penny like the 411 flip line ad and the first video I got was Thrill of it all..remember being like WTF..last shit I saw was like virtual reality.

If it's true I'm not surprised.

Jamie Thomas can't even figure out his own image so he's like the last guy who should've ever been living through his brand.  Had dude not been as shrewd as he was on the businesses end of things Zero would've disappeared when it should've (when it lost it's original identity).

All that being said it really puts into perspective how special Ed and Gonz really are for being able keep their brands true to themselves for as long as they have.

Burman has volcom still and he's popular so I'm sure he'll be fine.

Jamie Thomas's "image" has been less fluid than Reynolds and a lot other who've  been around for decades.  He built a bunch of brands by himself and poured everything into them.  Krooked hasn't been around half as long as Zero, plus it's run by DLX not Gonz. So it's probably easier to Art Direct your brand rather than start a bunch of brands from scratch.  Zero defined an era, the same can't be said for many companies

"LOL" He kept changing the company's creative direction to fit whatever stupid kick he happened to be on. Punk rock, goth, generic 70's hippie, evangelical, liberal political, etc.
