Pulled trigger to Pori Jazz friday night concert... looking forward to Herbie Hancock and Jamiroquai night.
Herbie is playing before Jamiroquai, kinda should be other way around, considering legend status I would give curtains act to Herbie.

I'm surprised that no one has posted the most obligatory Jazz song in all of skateboarding yet!

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew is one of my favourite albums of all time, and I'm happy somebody posted it up there. Great record if you're just getting into jazz, as it has a big rock influence. Buckle up, it's a wild ride.

Been missing playing saxophone recently (especially bari) and have been listening to a lot of jazz again as a result. Charles Mingus is my absolute fav, but here's some stuff I've gone back to a lot over the years:

The Penguin Guide to Jazz is a super rad/intimidating book to check out for an insane amount of jazz album recommendations and I don't think there's anything on the net that really compares to it, even if it is a bit dated now. Also never knew about the origins of the term jazz from the poster earlier in the thread. Pretty cool how the talent of the huge jazz figures pretty much entirely erased any derogatory/insulting stigma from it.

Mulatu Astatke 65-75 collection. And I'm gonna listen to "loose Booty" by funkadelic it has one of my favorite jazzy solos.
