Albums of the Year?
« on: December 12, 2016, 11:22:23 AM »
Honestly, I slacked super hard getting new music this year, but I was wondering what everyone's favorite albums this year were (maybe I'll cop a few when I get some cash).

Mine would be Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' "Skeleton Tree" or A Tribe Called Quest's "We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service."

Tribe.
Gucci mane.
The body.

Any of those would do. I wasn't in to the new De La Soul, might have to give it another listen.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity

Lots of good albums this year, but this one takes the cake for me. Infinite loop of pedal to the metal energy.

Best video too.

Been listening to the new Tycho album a ton, definitely give it a spin if you dig downtempo electronic stuff.

Tycho - Epoch (Full Album) [HD]

Gucci's two albums have been pretty dope, he's been on a tear since getting out of prison and being sober.

I've probably listened ot Anderson.Paak Malibu more than anything this year.

I'd been meaning to listen to King Gizzard and I'm checking out this new album and its pretty damn sick, I like the how the transitions between songs are nonstop so far. I bet it would be great stuff live.

im not sure if you know it, but the entire album loops infinetly, so the first song will transition perfectly back in right as the last song ends. you wont even know that the whole thing has started over unless you're paying attention.

man... i truly cannot think of one album i heard this year that I can list.  not saying that nothing good is coming out... more-so me not being as active in looking for new shit.  This came to mind:

Counter Intuits - Monosillabily

COUNTER INTUITS - Rocket Surgery [album "Monosyllabilly", 2016]

i'm gonna cheat by a few months, as both of these albums came out late last year, but i'll throw them on here since i didn't get them until this year!

Don Howland - Life is a Nightmare
DON HOWLAND gonna shake it (until it dies) ??? ? ???

Wolf Eyes - I Am A Problem: Mind in Pieces
Catching the Rich Train

Most of my favorites were mentioned, Bowie, Cohen, Radiohead, Nick Cave etc
A few that I really dug that were maybe a little overlooked are
PUP - The Dream is Over
Parquet Courts - Human Performance
Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial

I haven't heard it yet unfortunately, but I'm sure the new Jeff Rosenstock album "Worry" is great too.

EDIT : I'm a dummy and somehow didn't notice the multiple mentions of CSH already, whoops.
